Signature Hair Colour & Balayage

Koralena mixes every shade by hand for one client at a time, which means the tone you leave with is the tone we planned together rather than whatever a box says. We start with a strand test, then build the colour in stages so your hair keeps its strength.

How we work

Colour built around your growth pattern

Most colour problems come from a mismatch between the formula and the way hair actually grows. We map your parting, your cowlicks and the direction of your fringe before a single section is taken, so the regrowth line stays soft instead of forming a hard stripe across the crown.

  • A strand test two days before your appointment, so we know how your hair lifts before we commit to a formula.
  • Freehand balayage for a diffused root, or foil work when you want a sharper ribbon of light.
  • Bond-building treatment mixed into every lightening step to limit breakage on fine Nordic hair.
  • A take-home toning routine written on a card, including how often to wash and what to avoid.

Why the formula matters more than the photo

A photo shows the result, not the process. We read your natural depth, porosity and the amount of warmth sitting in the mid-lengths, then decide how much lift the hair can take in one visit.

If I have to choose between the shade you saw online and the shade your hair can hold, I will tell you straight away and show you the difference on a test strand.

Freehand balayage

Painted lightening that follows the fall of the hair, so the regrowth stays soft for months.

Full-head blonding

Sectioned foil work for a bright, even result when you want one clear tone from root to tip.

Grey blending

Low-ammonia tint that softens the grey line without covering it completely, so regrowth is less obvious.

The appointment

Six steps from consult to home care

Nothing here happens in a rush. If you have a photo in mind, bring it, and we will work from it rather than guessing what you meant.

  1. Consultation

We talk through your history, what you liked and disliked about past colour, and how much upkeep you want to handle.

  2. Strand test

A small section is lifted two days ahead so we know the timing and the tone your hair produces.

  3. Formula and mapping

The shade is mixed and the sectioning pattern drawn to follow your parting and growth direction.

  4. Application

Lightener or tint goes on in stages, starting where the hair lifts slowest.

  5. Tone and gloss

Once the lift is rinsed, we tone to the target shade and seal the cuticle with a gloss.

  6. Home care briefing

You leave with a wash schedule, a product list and a date for the next tone check.

Questions

Things people ask before their first colour

If your question is not answered here, ring the studio during opening hours and one of us will help straight away.

Plan for three to four hours for a full freehand lightening, including toning and drying. A root refresh takes around ninety minutes.

Sometimes, but it depends on how many layers are sitting in the hair. We test a strand first, and if the lift is uneven we will say so and suggest a slower plan.

Any lightening changes the hair. We mix a bond builder into the lightener and keep the developer strength as low as the target shade allows.

A root refresh every four to six weeks, or a balayage top-up every three to four months if you prefer a softer grow-out.

Yes. We usually blend rather than cover completely, because a full cover line shows up fast on short regrowth.

Tell us within seven days and we will adjust the tone at no extra cost. Colour is not finished until you are happy with it in daylight.
