What cookies are and why we mention them
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser. It lets the site remember something about your visit, such as the language you picked or whether you have already seen the cookie banner. Cookies are not programs and they cannot open files on your device.
Finnish and EU rules require us to tell you what we set and to ask before we set anything that is not strictly necessary. This page does that job for koralena.com.
Cookies we set ourselves
These come from our own site and keep it working the way you expect.
- cookie_choice: stores whether you accepted or declined optional cookies. Kept for 12 months.
- booking_session: keeps your appointment form filled in while you move between steps. Deleted when you close the browser.
- lang_pref: remembers which language version of the site you were reading. Kept for six months.
Cookies from other services
A few tools we use set their own cookies. We do not control what they store, so we list them here and leave them switched off until you accept optional cookies.
- Google Maps, when you load the map on our contact page. Google sets cookies to remember map position and zoom level.
- Google Analytics, which counts visits and shows us which pages people actually read. Data is grouped and we cannot identify you from it.
- Our booking widget, which needs a session cookie to hold your chosen time slot while you complete the form.
Managing your choice
The banner on our homepage has two buttons. Accept turns on the optional cookies described above. Decline leaves them off and only the strictly necessary ones stay active, which is enough to book an appointment and read the site. Your choice is saved on your device for 12 months, and the banner will not ask again until that period runs out.
Browser settings work too. Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete existing ones or ask before saving a new file. Blocking everything may break the booking form, so if something stops working, allow cookies for koralena.com and try again.
