A salon built around one client at a time
Koralena opened on Autotehtaankatu in 2016 with two chairs and a colour mixing bowl. We have kept the same habit since then: one client in the chair, no overlapping appointments, and a stylist who remembers what happened the last time your hair saw lightener. That sounds simple, but it is the reason our colour clients keep coming back instead of shopping around.
Everything we use is chosen for Nordic hair, which means gentle developers, bond builders in the lightener and formulas that survive a dark winter without turning brassy by February.

We keep the menu short on purpose. Colour and occasion styling are what we do every week, and everything else in the salon supports those two.

Bridal & Occasion Styling
Trials, updos and long-wear makeup for weddings and formal events, with on-location service across the Uusikaupunki area. Bride's day packages start at €390.

Colour first
Why we are fussy about the strand test
Two days before your first colour we lift a small section of hair on its own. It costs you nothing and it tells us how fast your hair lifts, how warm it goes and whether there is old box dye hiding in the mid-lengths. From that we write the formula.
It is the difference between leaving with the shade you wanted and leaving with something we have to fix in three weeks. We would rather spend fifteen minutes testing than two hours correcting.

Weddings
The morning of, without the panic
Wedding hair fails in the same place every time: the crown drops and the pins start showing by the cake. We build the shape from a proper base with hidden anchors, so it still looks like the trial photo when the band starts playing.
Trials run Tuesday to Thursday in the studio. On the day itself we travel to you, work through the party in order and leave a touch-up kit in your bag.

Five steps from message to mirror
No hidden stages and no surprise charges at the till. Here is the order everything happens in.
Step 01
You send a message
Tell us what you are after and roughly when. We check the diary and come back the same working day.
Step 02
Consultation
A fifteen minute talk about your hair history, what you liked before and how much upkeep you want.
Step 03
Strand test
Two days ahead for any new colour, so we know the lift and the tone before the appointment starts.
Step 04
The appointment
The chair is yours for the whole booking. We stop whenever you want to look at the colour in daylight.
Step 05
Home care
You leave with a wash schedule, a product list and a date for the next tone check if colour needs one.

Owner and senior colourist
Elina has been mixing colour since 2011 and opened Koralena five years later. She trained in Turku and still goes back for colour update courses every spring.
Noora Lindqvist
Bridal stylist and makeup artist
Noora handles weddings, formal updos and makeup. She has built a reputation for styles that survive a windy coastal venue.

You hear the number before we start
Hair length, thickness and how much lift a colour needs all move the price, so we quote during the consultation and you decide from there. Nothing gets added at the till.

Good to know
Packages and gift vouchers
Gift vouchers are valid for twelve months and can be spent on any service or product on the shelf. Bridal packages are held with an €80 deposit that comes off the final bill.

Only for bridal work and appointments longer than four hours. Everything else is confirmed without one.
Two to three weeks in winter, and up to five weeks in June when the wedding season is on.

The salon sits on the ground floor with the entrance straight off the street. Free parking is right outside and there is a bus stop two minutes away.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday 9:00-18:00, Saturday 10:00-15:00. Closed Sunday and Monday.
